Event Description

Get Into the Groove! High-Energy Bucket Drumming. Join us for a dynamic, hands-on workshop that proves you don’t need fancy equipment to make incredible music! With nothing more than buckets and drumsticks, participants of all skill levels can dive into an energizing and collaborative drumming session. In this exciting, rhythmic workshop, you will be guided by CCM faculty member Tsuyoshi Honjo through a series of exercises that build rhythmic mastery, helping you deepen your understanding of musical timing, pulse, and complex syncopation. You will also experience the power of the collective groove, strengthening teamwork and communication skills through shared, focused drumming, while enjoying the exhilarating, high-energy release of stress reduction. You’ll gain practical experience creating layered rhythms and intricate patterns. This unique experience strengthens musical connections and is proof that anyone can make music if they find the right beat. Who Should Attend? This dynamic workshop is designed for participants who are interested in teamwork, focus, and rhythmic development. Participants should have a minimum of 1 year of prior musical training (in any instrument, voice, or genre). Students younger than age 9 may participate if accompanied by a registered adult.

Taught by CCM Piano Faculty Member Tsuyoshi Honjo

    It Began Here: Honoring America250

This year's Patriots' Day honored the 250th anniversary of the first battles of the American Revolution with great fanfare, historic reenactments, commemorations, and somber remembrance of those who gave their lives to help give rise to the United States of America. As we make our way towards July 4, 2026, and the America250 celebrations, we hope you will enjoy a look back at the events of April 19, 2025.

Tokens of Compliment and Love: 19th Century Concord Celebrates the Holidays

When November rolls around each year many Americans begin to think about the upcoming holidays. Traditional family recipes are dusted off for Thanksgiving as relatives and friends are invited to share the feast. Almost as soon as dinner is over, thoughts turn to Christmas as decorations, presents, and parties become the center of attention. Many of our holiday traditions date back to the 19th century, and modern Americans would easily recognize their ancestor’s Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations.
