Visit Nummeehquantamūmun
Visit Nummeehquantamūmun as nia holley, Nipmuc, reintroduces corn in the Museum’s interior courtyard as a process to reawaken the mortar and return corn to this place. This mortar is one of many mortars held by the Concord Museum that have been used for a variety of purposes by Indigenous communities, including processing food, medicines, and pigments. Chemacheg Menukhi: Paddle Strong
Explore local Indigenous history and contemporary artistic practices through the new exhibit, Chemacheg Menuhki: Paddle Strong. Co-curated with Brittney PeauweWunnepogWalley (Nipmuc), the exhibit will include a fiber basket created by Walley that features iconography exploring the story of the 58 Nipmuc individuals housed on the property of John Hoar in Concord in 1675- 1676.
