Event Description

Described as “a paragon of the concert pianist” by the LA Examiner and “a standout performer” by The Boston Musical Intelligencer, Georgian-born American pianist Yelena Beriyeva is recognized as a talented artist of her generation. Her powerful yet graceful performances have been showcased on radio and television both nationally and internationally. Purchase Tickets in advance or payable at the door for this event. ($25 General Admission and free for students 18 and under) Award winning pianist and CCM faculty member Yelena Beriyeva will perform Brahms’ introspective and penultimate piano work Klavierstücke, dedicated to Clara Schumann, followed by Debussy’s Estampes (“Prints”) inspired by sounds of the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The program will conclude with Mussorgsky’s iconic Pictures at an Exhibition, a musical narration of the composer’s visit to an exhibit of artist Viktor Hartmann and depictions of his paintings.
