Delve into the mystical world of Tarot cards through the evocative mixed media sculptures by Elisa Adams. Her captivating series, Formed by the Fates: A Journey through the Major Arcana, interprets the mystical symbolism of 22 of the cards, inviting the audience to embark on a meditative and introspective experience with each unique piece. Complementing this journey, abstract encaustic collages by Athena P. Tasiopoulos ignite curiosity and a serene calm with their mesmerizing neutral tones. Avery S. Bramhall joins us with new oil paintings, completing this vibrant show with a burst of color and bold brushstrokes. SHOW RUNS: Oct 15 – Nov 23

Described as “a paragon of the concert pianist” by the LA Examiner and “a standout performer” by The Boston Musical Intelligencer, Georgian-born American pianist Yelena Beriyeva is recognized as a talented artist of her generation. Her powerful yet graceful performances have been showcased on radio and television both nationally and internationally.

Richard Higgins will discuss his new book, "Thoreau’s God", which recovers a central thread in Thoreau’s life and work that has been ignored or dismissed—his personal religiosity and iconoclastic theological vision. Both are woven through Thoreau’s work as a naturalist and his philosophical thought and ethical commitments. Although a harsh critic of historical Christianity, Thoreau was religious to the bone and had a profound sense of the holy. 

Join Salem’s master storyteller, Nathaniel Hawthorne, for a frightful evening of thrills and chills in the gloomy shadow of his Concord haunts! The famous author performs his most frightening tales, as well as the terrifying works of fellow writer, Edgar Allan Poe. Stories include The House of the Seven Gables, The Cask of Amontillado, Annabel Lee, Young Goodman Brown, The Raven, and more.

The orchestra performs music by Michael Torke, Samuel Barber, and Margaret Bonds.  Michael Torke’s Javelin was commissioned by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for its 50th anniversary and performed at the opening ceremony of the Atlanta Summer Olympics in 1996.  Samuel Barber’s lyrical Symphony No. 1 combines the four movements of a classical symphony into a single movement.  Margaret Bond’s Montgomery Variations was composed in 1964 and dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.  It portrays the early history of the Civil Rights Movement, in particular the Montgomery Bus Boycott and its aftermath.

Artisans Way will once again present the much-anticipated annual showcase of Native American jewelry, animal fetishes, silver pieces, pottery, and more. Hosted by Diane Whitman, this will be the 14th year for this event, which brings to Concord unique pieces created by members of the Navajo Nation, Santo Domingo Pueblo, Zuni, and Acoma Pueblo tribe members.

Concord Center is buzzing with excitement with the Third Thursdays event series. This Massachusetts neighborhood welcomes locals and visitors alike for art, culture, shopping, and dining. Taking place monthly from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Third Thursdays features more than 30 local businesses staying open late with special offerings and experiences. 

Join Concord Museum for a program and performance with the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers, a group of musicians and artisans from the tribal communities of Mashpee on Cape Cod and Aquinnah on Martha’s Vineyard on Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Participate in the performance of eastern social songs and dances. Free. Participation is limited. Advanced registration is required to secure space in the program.
