The foundation of Discover West Concord Day is the annual birthday bash for Debra’s Natural Gourmet. “The party we threw after our first year of business was a big hit – with vendors partner-ing with us to give away food, product samples, and to do live demonstrations,” said Debra Stark, founder of the beloved neighborhood store. “It was so much fun that we have thrown a party again every year for 30 years. All great parties involve friends – so we invited our neighbors in West Concord to join in the fun, and Discover West Concord Day was born!”

This year, businesses throughout West Concord will open their doors on October 26th and welcome you to be a part of a fun-filled day of celebrating the character, charm, and family fun vibe that makes this part of town so special. There will be activities all along Commonwealth Avenue from West Concord Shopping Plaza to Kenny Dunn Square.

The party gets started at 10:00 am and wraps up in the late afternoon. Enjoy free food, kid friendly activities, live music all up and down the cultural district, and beer and wine tasting too!

Meet local artists all around the town. Catch a silversmithing demonstration from Merlin’s Silver Star Studio. Create your own tie dye masterpiece or dazzle your friends with Henna at Concord Firefly. There will even be face painting for the kids at the West Concord 5 & 10.

Just in time for Halloween, The Village Art room will hold a costume decorating workshop, with team members on hand to help with sewing machines and supplies. The Concord Flower Shop will have a fun pumpkin arrangement activity for kids (or adults!).

Shoppers of all interests will delight in the sidewalk sales up and down the street. Reflections has a sidewalk sale with some of their lowest prices of the year. Joy Street will give away gourmet goodies and hold a raffle for a $50 gift card. Many other merchants will offer product demonstra-tions, samples, and great deals. There will be a raffle basket for adults, and free bubbles to keep the children happy at A New Leaf - and if you mention the phrase “Concord Junction” there, you will receive a mystery discount.

You can even check-in for a checkup, learn tips for keeping healthy, and possibly win a free body composition analysis at Lincoln Physicians at Brookside Square.

“We are looking forward to seeing the community out and about, supporting local business, and celebrating the village we are all proud to be a part of,” said Hilary Taylor of Merlin’s Silver Star Studio.
