Join the Wright Tavern and First Parish as they welcome a reenactor of Lafayette to Concord. There will be presentations by renowned author and expert on the American Revolution, Robert A. Gross, as well as the Executive Director of the Robbins House, Jen Turner, and Director of the Concord Prison Outreach Project, Sam Williams. Refreshments will be served in the Wright Tavern. Join the Wright Tavern Legacy Trust and Concord250 as they commemorate the Provincial Congress that met in Concord 250 years ago. Enjoy a program of lectures and conversations about popular self-government in Massachusetts. Speakers will include noted scholars, legislators, and others. October 11  WrightTavern.org/programs

In early 1775, as tensions rose, the Provincial Congress built an intelligence network to monitor British forces and supplies. Meanwhile, the British conducted their own intelligence missions into the countryside. These efforts would create moments of intrigue, strife, and unexpected voices; all of which would play a vital role in what was to come. Don't miss this very special living history event.

On Saturday May 10 from  11am to 3pm your $10 discounted admission to the Wright Tavern Museum comes with the opportunity to play a historical miniatures game of the British retreat from Concord on April 19, 1775. We will be using Muskets and Tomahawks rules which enable players to command British Regulars or minutemen. Children 8 and up accompanied by an adult are encouraged to participate.  Prizes will be awarded for good play. Can you do better than history?

Begin your day with a private tour of the Ralph Waldo Emerson house. Enjoy the home, Lidian’s garden, and the renovated barn. Then join us at the Wright Tavern for a noon luncheon and a performance by Phil Paradis, as he entertains visitors as Waldo himself in 1871 in this witty and humorous one-man play.

Hear the Declaration read aloud as citizens once did, learn about the debates and doubts that surrounded independence, join the discussion, and cast your own vote: Would you have said yes to independence?
