Birding By Ear with Jerry Berrier
Join us for a program at Walden Pond State Reservation designed to introduce people who are blind or have low vision to the joys of birding. We are pleased to welcome back veteran birder and Mass Audubon accessibility consultant Jerry Berrier to lead a free program along our ½ mile ADA compliant trail. Our target birds will include some of our charismatic forest dwellers like the piliated woodpecker, the eastern wood peewee, the red-eyed vireo, and the scarlet tanager to name a few.

Pyrography (Wood Burning) Demonstration
Pyrographer Alissa O'Brien rescues discarded wood to create extraordinary works highlighting the grain patterns revealed beneath the bark. For this special event, Alissa will show you the art of pyrography. Stop by the Visitor Center to view the exhibition of Alissa's wood-burnings and for the demo location at Walden.

Author Event: My Wild Life with Peter Alden
Back by popular demand, Native Concordian, world-renowned naturalist, lecturer, birder, and author Peter Alden will present his new memoir, My Wild Life: Rare Birds, Close Calls, and the Adventures of an Eco-Explorer. Book signing will follow.
Alden will share stories and photos from decades of travel to over 100 countries and seven continents.

Discover the art of printmaking with self-taught printmaker & compulsive wanderer Sherrie York. Her exhibition of wildlife (mostly birds) and naturescapes is now on display at the Walden Pond Visitor Center. Hailing from Bristol, Maine, Sherrie is a linocut artist, sketching on linoleum blocks which are then carved in successive layers to transfer colorful prints onto paper. Her linocuts have been presented worldwide.
