In 2025, the lively Concord250 Arts, Literature, and Music Subcommittee is looking to the arts to bring fresh and expanded perspectives to local history, elevate lesser-told stories, and look ahead to the “next 250.” From Liz Helfer’s Freedom’s Silhouette interactive sculpture recently installed in Monument Square to newly commissioned musical compositions and more, local artists and cultural organizations are creatively re-examining history and bringing it into the now.

Meet Pierre and Gaby Chiha, two remarkable photographers whose philosophy and vision create stunning works of art.

The colors of Concord in fall are so beautiful they bring a glow to our minds and a smile to our faces. The reds, oranges, and yellows against a green background are emphasized as they reflect in our waterways.

Šárka Botner was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. Often called the “the city of a hundred spires,” Prague is a stunningly beautiful city where merchants, artists, and inventors have met since the Middle Ages.

Raised in this environment, Šárka says, “I believe each of us has a creative code that is hardwired into our imagination. My creative impulses, such as capturing details, restoring frescos, putting brushstrokes on a canvas, and translating three-dimensional spaces into two dimensions, are comforting and exciting. 

Meet Bethany Noël and Alice Rosa. Noël is a pointillist, or rather divisionist, by circumstance and not choice, and Italian artist Alice Rosa had a love of botany from a young age. Discover their remarkable art in this Artist Spotlight.

Meet Carole Rabe and Christiane Corcelle. For Carole Rabe, painting is a dialogue between the artist and the “spaces, shapes, colors, and light observed.” “Remarkably,” says Christiane Corcelle, “the way I create my artwork mirrors how I live—a potpourri of diverse elements that may seem unrelated but come together harmoniously.”
